DJ had a major adventure on Wednesday, 6 June, 2001. At 6:00 A.M., he was rudely thrust out of sleep by his father and mother. He was taken to the Labor & Delivery floor of MacNeal Hospital, to the same room where he was born .

Overall, DJ had a decent morning. He was pampered by some of his dad's colleagues, who stopped by to pat his cheeks and rub his feet. He had a leisurely breakfast and settled down for a long nap on his dad's lap. However, things really stepped up around 2:30 P.M. His mother stopped paying full attention to him. So, he decided to roll over in his stroller next to her bed and sleep some more (much to his father's relief). DJ woke up when he heard crying at 3:41 P.M. He looked quite surprised when a baby girl appeared in front of his face. His mother was much less cranky now and his father seemed extremely pleased with this new addition.

After a while, the little girl went to the nursery for a couple of hours. DJ and his parents moved into a nice room at the Mother & Baby Unit. DJ was very happy because he got to snuggle in the big bed with his mother where he received his proper allotment of kisses and cuddles.

DJ's extended family came to visit in the evening after dinner. He received many congratulatory hugs and kisses as a new BIG BROTHER! At 9:30 PM, DJ went home with his father to his own bed for a well-deserved night's sleep.
